Employee Spotlight

Your people create your culture, and your culture defines your organisation.

If you’ve got an engaged workforce who love what they do, seeing them in action really helps to bring you to life in the minds of your audience.

Perfect for:
- Regular use on your social channels.
- Internal comms updates.
- Recruitment pages.

Let’s hear from...

An employee

  • Please introduce yourself, and tell us what you do
  • How long have you worked here?
  • What’s your favourite thing about working here?
  • What are the challenges you face in your job?

Let’s film...

The employee in action

  • Get a shot of the employee in action
  • Get a close shot of the employee smiling as they work
  • Get a shot of the employee standing in front of somecompany branding

Hot Tips

  • For best results, consider asking a colleague to film the featured employee, rather than having them do it as a ‘selfie’. This will take the pressure off the participant, and make them more relaxed.
  • It’s super-important to get some shots of the employee in action, if you can! This will make the video so much more interesting to the viewer.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask your employee about the difficulties they face. Being honest about challenges is the quickest way to build an emotional connection with your audience.

Next Level

  • Why not commit to doing one spotlight every month, or even every week? It can be a great way of making your workforce feel valued.
  • For a more exciting experience for your viewers, try mixing three spotlights into a single video. This will give your audience an instant glimpse of the variety and excitement in your organisation.
  • Smartphone video gives you a chance to hear from people who might not usually be first in line to be featured. Why not use this spotlight to give some less-confident team members a chance to shine?

Top Tip Series

Why try it?

This is one of the easiest and most effective videos you can make!

It’s a fantastic way of showing your audience that you understand them, and that you’re the ones that can solve any problems they’re facing.

Perfect for:
- Regular use on your social channels.

Hot Tips

  • Write down 30 questions that your ideal customer might have about anything connected to your offering. Why not make a video for each one and put them out weekly? Your audience will get used to seeing to them, and even look forward to them.
  • If you’d like to appeal to a new audience, make your tips as broad as possible - they don’t need to reference your organisation at all.
  • Consider giving your tip series a name that people can remember; ‘weekly booster tips’, totally top tips’, etc.
  • The idea is to be helpful with no thought of anything in return. You’ll demonstrate that you’re an expert, and build up goodwill at the same time.
  • Getting different team members to offer tips is a great way of showcasing te expertise of your organisation, and giving the audience a sense of what makes you tick.
  • If you’re making a series, why not tease next week’s tip at the end of the current video?

Filming Task Suggestions

Just pick and choose your favourites and copy them into your project! Then you can adapt them however you like.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Capture Captain app is what you will use to gather video clips from your contributors.

Is the Capture Captain app available on iOS and Android devices?

Insert Video

Yes. The Capture Captain app is available on iOS and Android. Visit capturecaptain.app.link/go or visit the appropriate app store and search for Capture Captain App.

Where can I download the app

Visit capturecaptain.app.link/go or visit the appropriate app store and search for Capture Captain App.

Do I need to be connected to WiFi for filming?

We recommend connecting to your local WiFi before starting to film so that approved clips can automatically upload in the background. If you're not on WiFi then the upload process will wait until you've completed all your filming tasks and you proceed by pressing 'NEXT' on the task list. This will take you to an uploads area where you can choose to upload using your mobile data allowance, or connect to a WiFi network.

I need a story code to get into the app - How do I get one?

A Story Code is needed because all the app content is unique for each project. You can create your own Story Code using the Captain portal - start your free trial today.

How do video clips upload?

Once a video is recorded the contributor is asked to approve the clip, or re-record a new take. If approved, the video clip starts uploading in the background whilst additional filming tasks are completed. This means that by the time filming is complete, the majority of video clips are already uploaded to the Captain servers.

Will uploading clips incur costs

Captain do not charge users for uploading video clips, but other charges may apply from mobile network operators or local area networks.

We recommend uploading video clips via your local WiFi network as video files can be quite large - and this does not usually incur charges. If you don't have a local WiFi network then you can upload using your existing mobile data allowance.
